Liverpool is a superb city... loads to see and do... and drink and eat...

It would be cheaper to drop a neutron bomb on Liverpool. It would solve so many problems

Yes. It's a pain in the arse getting there as is. I check the walk to this new place to lime street. About 35 minutes.

There are a couple of old boxers on that road but they'll build a shit load more between now and when it opens. Anyone with any freehold around there is laughing.

Yeah but shiny new buildings a la London's docklands won't do much to mitigate the traffic/transport issue.

Expect a WHO/OS-style reaction from bluenoses down the line a bit.

Mind you, Anfield and Goodison are hardly in mega-convenient locations for away (or even "home") fans as it is tbf.

All that area is about to get redeveloped. Surely you know that mashed. Dont you live there?

Strange choice of location tbh.

Just north of the city centre and on one of the most neglected roads in the city (saying a lot) which is often completely clogged with dockside/industrial traffic (miles of HGVs). Hardly any boozers nearby either.

new Everton will be a much better football ground than the Estadio de Cess

Nahh, I'd rather have the biggest club ground in London thank you.

I’d agree that around that sort of figure keeps the intimacy of the stadium and creates a better atmosphere than something like Old Trafford with 75,000.
Though I did see something where someone came up with an expansion idea for Anfield that would make it 108,000! Basically the Kop looked like a ski slope and you’d need oxygen up the back

Very interesting, Gavros, thanks.

Lucky buggers, that does look decent.

Re: Everton's new stadium
Looks like an actual football stadium.
To my way of thinking 52,000 is just about the perfect capacity for a largish football ground. A good size, but not so big that people in the upper tiers feel too far away.
All in all, it looks better than the Emirates or new WHL (which is just too flash). No point comparing our rented 'home'.

I'm sure that our owners were reluctant to provide Everton with the sightlines distance when asked...

I wonder why?
